We want to send a big thank you to everyone who participated in our contest and helped make it a success!
And a special congratulations to Emily , the winner of the MortgagePug mug and Starbucks Gift Card Prize in our ‘Why brokers beat the bank’ contest!.
Emily was nice enough to tweet us a photo of her celebrating with her new pug mug!
See some of the great entries below:
Kyle Johns Mortgage brokers make you feel like a person rather than another number......and pugs....banks don't have pugs
Kevin Sean Parton Mortgage brokers are working for you and get the lenders competing for your business with the product that's right for you.
Bank mortgage advisors are working for the bank and are rewarded for selling products that make the bank the most money which is almost always bad for you.
Beyond that obvious difference, Alex McFadyen is amazing to work with. He takes the time to understand your situation, ask what your short and long term goals are and then recommends a product that is best suited for your specific life.
That type of service and care do not come around every day.
Sua Truong Totally different mentality about the "client". Mortgage brokers have a client for life mentality versus "you're just another #". Take a # and come on the bank's time versus your time. (speaking as a former bank employee) A lot of our clients become really good friends, can't say I retained 1 client as a friend from my 9 years working for the bank.
Patrick Louie All great comments! I would also add that mortgage brokers develop quite a depth of expertise by working with different lenders and different lending products, so they understand the marketplace better and use that to better serve their clients. Also, working with a mortgage broker would limit the number of "credit pulls" you would otherwise have by trying to do DIY which hurts your credit score, more importantly they make sure you end up with the RIGHT product.
Isabel Rodney Mortgage brokers give that personal touch no one else can.
Thank you for the support and we look forward to running more fun contests in the future!
