In case you missed it, last week CMHC (Canada's Mortgage & Housing Corporation) released the results of their yearly survey on First Time Homebuyer experiences in Canada. Among the results of the survey, one point is very clear: first time home buyers overwhelmingly (72%) choose to use a Mortgage Broker over their bank or credit union to arrange their mortgage.
In April 2015, CMHC completed an online survey of 788 First-Time Buyers from across Canada. All respondents had undertaken a mortgage transaction in the past 12 months and all were one of the prime decision-makers within their household for matters relating to housing finance and mortgages.
